My Story
My name is Alvin R. Cooley, I have a degree in Architectural
Technology from the University of Southern Mississippi circa 1974. The visual art I am sharing with you today was created in 1975. All the original pieces were created on the traditional drafting board using graphite pencils on graph paper. Since that time, I have continuously worked on my creations. In the early 80’s, I was exposed to CAD (COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN) and was completely fascinated by the technology. Fortunately for me, a job change placed me with a company that embraced the new technology. Then I discovered CoralDraw. CoralDraw was just what I needed to elevate my pencil sketches to the next level digital art. Over the next 2o years, I became proficient in the software and converted all of my original pencil sketches into an all digital format. In 2019, I retired after 46 years of working. I could finally devote 100% of my free time to my art and finally publish the collections. My daughter, who has a master’s degree from SCAD Atlanta, suggested that I check out, ADOBE!!! I was fascinated by the software and how powerful it is compared to what I was currently using. I began a new quest to master Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, Lightroom and Adobe Portfolio. It has taken four years to reach this point, ready to publish the work I created 50 years ago. In conclusion, I offer these thoughts: Creativity is a gift from GOD given to every mere mortal. Don’t ignore it, capture it and never let it go. No matter how long it may take, no force in the universe can keep it from being revealed.

My Creative Philosophy
Art is not what you see, but what you make others see. Through my work, I strive to create windows into emotional landscapes where color, form, and texture converge to tell stories beyond words.
My approach to art is rooted in [philosophy], with each piece representing [concept]. I believe that [belief] and this conviction shapes every aspect of my creative process from conception to completion.
